  How do you promote?

  I've learned to never put all my eggs in one basket. I use AuthorsXP for newsletter promotions. I do author takeovers when friends of mine are having book release parties. I run giveaways. I post here, so that it'll be shared to LitSocial's social media...  moreI've learned to never put all my eggs in one basket. I use AuthorsXP for newsletter promotions. I do author takeovers when friends of mine are having book release parties. I run giveaways. I post here, so that it'll be shared to LitSocial's social media accounts. I also offer free Ebooks to people willing to write a review, (though rate of return on that is low and can be tricky) and generally just do my best to help other authors as much as I can. The goal as a writer is to get people to remember your name. Branding is key. A logo that speaks to your work, that you use across all social media, the same usernames on all of them if you can. Friend and converse with other authors and readers as often as you can, and stay out of the indie author drama rumor mills. Make yourself visible, and that's most of the battle. My word count last night wasn't impressive, because I had to run off on internetADD and find "water themed names" for Siren lands, Princesses of Siren lands, and their consorts. Which led me down a rabbit hole of generators on Fantasy Name Generators. I eventually got what I needed, but hot damn. That was a lot of time wasted on something most readers won't even pay attention to. So I'm saying it here, acknowledge that all my names in Queened are water-based names, dammit! :p   less

• Mandi Konesni I have officially finished my first full length novel. The ones that came before were anthologies, with 2 stories per book. This will be the first one with only ONE story in it. It was a ton of work, but I'm so proud that I did it!

  • Mandi Konesni Thank you! It's been awhile in the making. I need to figure out how I'm going to publish it, as I have a prequel short story that goes with it, but I'm not sure if it's long enough to publish separately as an Ebook. Choices... choices.
