NanoWriMo is almost here! Eek! The first year I was a pantster with no planning. The second year, I was a plantster... some planning, but not really a whole outline or anything. This year, I took the plunge and have transformed into a full-on planner. I utilized OneNote and my plotting book NovelCraft to create an online outline. I plotted out my characters, locations, settings, etc. I feel more ready than I ever have, but the days leading up to Nano are always nervous ones... have I planned enough? Am I prepared enough? Do I have all my snacks, drinks, and things in hand? We'll see! less

Something I wrote a very very long time ago for fun, examining vampires in myth and popular culture. Yes, I was an odd little child. :) Found it while cleaning USB drives, figured I'd post for an interesting look at the research.

It's too hot to plot. #Melting #HelpMe Seriously though, I'm working on plotting for two separate standalone novels, which should be interesting. I plan on doing Risque 4 for NanoWriMo again in November. My sister is coming to visit for the 4th, so we're going to do a photoshoot for the series she's modeling for so I can get the cover for the first made. So much to do. So little time!

Photoshoot is done, and photos have been sent to the cover artist! Working on writing the 1st standalone novel... it's at 32k and the goal is 50k, so plodding right along. Keeping myself busy, at least lol
I tend to gather a ton of information for random things as "ideas" for books, settings, characters, whatever. They're all stashed in a bunch of notepad docs in my "Work" folder, but by the time I'm looking for a certain piece of information, none of it ma...

It's a bit simplistic, of course, but we've all heard that there are no "new" stories, just new ways of writing them. For me, I think the originality lies in the characters, their struggles, and the way they overcome them... whatever they may be. What are your thoughts? Do your stories fit in the categories? Are there any more categories you think might have been overlooked?
Are there only seven types of plot available to fiction storytellers? Some suggest there are fewer, while others claim more... but does it really matter?
An author convention and dance recital, all proceeds from both events will be donated to childhood cancer charities. It's bound to be a great night, for a worthwhile cause!
Mandi KonesniI have been banned from buying any more covers until I use up at least half of what I have. It's not hoarding if you PLAN to use them. Dammit. #coverhoarder #notsorry
